Perhaps there might be a hint as to what we’re meant to be doing here, based purely on observing human social dynamics as technological and social growth trends amplify our efforts and inspire paradigm shifts that change the entire focus of the Human Experience/Endeavour. It’s simple, really. We process (ie Eat) just about everything we come across, and poop out something that is actually dangerous for our biome. That denotes a key function. The art and science invoked both lean towards absorption, analysis, and conversion. We make things that improve our reach and control of this process. The X factor is simply that our reason for expansion seems to be the key ingredient. It’s what defines us as civilised, nurturing, wise citizens of our ecosystem/planet/reality… or as a destructive, uncooperative, uncivilsed eating machine that leaves nothing but decay and dessication behind us… like a virus. Are we agents for Life or of Death? Our purpose seems to be to work that out for oursekves, and thus add to or subtract from the total number of life/death campaigns/projects/societies that go down one route or the other throughout time and space. Cancer with a quirk of conscience. A chance to be more… to demonstrate that sentience has value, and that individual intent, performance, and even methodology define not just ourselves but our values and soul as a species/society.
